Edmonton Oilers Win Game 4, Stay Alive in Stanley Cup Final
Panthers Take Early Lead, but Oilers Rally
The Edmonton Oilers kept their Stanley Cup Final hopes alive with a 5-3 victory over the Florida Panthers in Game 4 on Tuesday night. The Oilers trailed 2-0 after the first period, but Connor McDavid led a second-period comeback with two goals and an assist.
McDavid Leads Oilers' Comeback
McDavid scored his first goal of the game just 2:39 into the second period, cutting the Panthers' lead to 2-1. He then tied the game with a power-play goal at 12:53 of the second.
McDavid completed his four-point night with an assist on Kailer Yamamoto's game-winning goal at 19:02 of the third period. It was Yamamoto's second goal of the game.
Bobrovsky Shines for Panthers
Despite the loss, Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was outstanding. He stopped 32 of 37 shots, including several key saves in the third period.
Carter Verhaeghe gave the Panthers an early lead with a goal at 4:39 of the first period. Sam Bennett made it 2-0 with a goal at 16:34 of the first.
Series Shifts to Edmonton
The series now shifts to Edmonton for Game 5 on Thursday night. The Oilers will need to win Game 5 to avoid falling behind 3-1 in the series.
The Panthers will be looking to close out the series in Game 5 and win their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
